WEST TEXAS TRAIL WRITERS
DAVIS MOUNTAINS STATE PARK

My standard bio goes something like this: “Writer, editor, and book historian Barbara Brannon, a native of Georgia, is executive director of the Texas Plains Trail Region.” But I’ve also taught creative writing, prepared tax returns, and drawn caricatures at Six Flags.

Art, literature, theater, and music occupy a great deal of my time and even more of my thought. I work solo and with others on book publishing projects, photography, painting, poetry, folk and choral music, and other creative and spiritual endeavors.

I'm proud of the roots as well as the branches of my family. We’re all Southerners who have landed, for the most part, in Texas. Each of us has our own story, our own talents, our own journey.
